Old Comrades Remember
This mural is a commemorative artwork dedicated to military remembrance. At the top, the phrase “Old Comrades Remember” is displayed within a red poppy border. The central section features the words “Lest We Forget” above a wreath of red poppies, set against a background of a poppy-filled landscape at sunset. On either side of the central panel are silhouetted figures of soldiers standing with heads bowed, suggesting reflection and remembrance.
Below the wreath is a biblical quotation: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). Surrounding the central imagery are a series of panels containing regimental crests and emblems, framed with poppy motifs. The overall colour palette is dominated by reds, blacks, and warm sunset tones, reinforcing the theme of remembrance and sacrifice.
