Andersonstown Apache

This mural celebrates Belfast boxer Anthony Cacace, known as “The Apache”, and his connection with Andersonstown in west Belfast.

The centre of the mural shows Cacace bare-chested in boxing shorts and gloves, roaring in celebration while holding two championship belts. One belt is draped over his left shoulder and another is held prominently across his right side. His name, “ANTHONY CACACE”, is painted in large white lettering across the lower part of the image, while “ANDERSONSTOWN APACHE” arches above his head.

To the left is an Irish tricolour alongside the quote: “I am just a young fella from Andytown who didn’t give up.” To the right is another tricolour and the motivational phrase “never give up on dreams...”.

The black background makes the boxer, belts and white lettering stand out strongly. A number of local organisations, sponsors and community groups are represented along the bottom, including Féile an Phobail and Andersonstown Social Club.

Overall, the mural presents Cacace as a source of local pride, emphasising his Andersonstown roots, perseverance and achievements as a world champion boxer.
